Google said it has created a free licensing service

In a move geared to please Android developers, Google July 27 said it has created a free licensing service to protect paid applications in the Android Market from unauthorized use.

The move will prevent tech-savvy users from downloading for-fee applications on the Android Market, which has some 70,000 free and paid programs.

Zinio digital Android magazine app

Zinio, the digital magazine newsstand, has unveiled an Android version of its electronic reading platform, FierceWireless reports.
The new e-reader will likely end up working on various Linux platforms, not just Android. It joins the existing iPhone and iPod touch app Zinio launched in January (pictured).
